So what is The New Twililght Struggle? The "twilight struggle" is a reference to JFK's inaugural speech:

Now the trumpet summons us again—not as a call to bear arms, though arms we need; not as a call to battle, though embattled we are—but a call to bear the burden of a long twilight struggle, year in and year out, "rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation"—a struggle against the common enemies of man: tyranny, poverty, disease, and war itself.

This is my attempt to describe some of the characteristics of what is now being called "The Long War", as well as some of the strategies the country and businesses can employ to mitigate its effects. I hope to be able to serve as a connector -- to connect disparate national and homeland security thinkers in both the public and private sector to try to help make sense out of this new era.
